Q101 Jamboree-99.
FOR QUITE A FEW YEARS WE PRODUCED TWO TO THREE MAJOR CONCERTS FOR Q101 RADIO IN CHICAGO. THERE WERE TOP NAME, HIGH EXPOSURE GROUPS THAT PERFORMED IN A LINEUP OF 10 TO 14 GROUPS IN A MATTER OF SEVERAL DAYS.
It was either “Jamoboree” (during the summer) or “SlimeBall” (during Halloween) or “Twisted” (during the fall). So, deep from our archives is this effort for “Jamboree99”. It had a “comic book” concept which recreated the true storylines for each band (on how they came to be famous) via an illustrated series of small comic books (with the amazing work of Alex Wald) as part of the event collateral, which always included wearables, posters, card, event catalogs, stage design, tickets, back-stage passes and many more. Here are just a handful of the ones for J99.
