︎VINYL/POSTER/COLLATERAL.
A Square Beyond.
A SQUARE BEYOND IS A UNIFIED COLLECTION - EXCLUSIVELY ON CLEAR VINYL - OF RECORDINGS BY TEDDY ATKATZ AND NYCO.
The two elements inside the square, originally conceptualized in artwork by Fiona Morrison, represent three very specific moments in the history of this band. The first is a celebration and acknowledgment of NYCO’s very first album titled TWO.
All of these tracks have been previously released under two names, making the second reason the unification of NYCO and Teddy Atkatz back to NYCO. Thirdly, the two bars represent the origins of the original founders - New York and Colorado.
The center label of the LP contains 10 variations of the two bars, one for each track on the album. The “A Square Beyond” single is pressed on a square vinyl (at bottom).
All album sleeve interiors are signed by Fiona Morrison and include a 24x36 poster, a 12x12 lyrics sheet, 10 song postcards, and a sticker. Additionally, this release includes several “breadcrumbs” - only 10 will include a special hand colored and signed by Carlos Segura version of the poster, three additional small cards, as well as a “photo strip” sealing the sleeve to celebrate the 10 tracks in the album.
The paper for the sleeve was hand made and stamped at Aquari Papers in Banyoles, Spain, and letterpressed at Lanacronica in Barcelona. Special thanks to Joaquim Massana for production assistance. ASB was pressed at New Press Vinyl - A plant first started by Joe Gibbs, then taken over by Studio One’s Clement 'Sir Coxsone' Dodd's main pressing facility - one of the original reggae studios in Miami from the 1970s. - (PRE-ORDERS will open soon). All songs published by Fatkatz23 Music (ASCAP).
